Feisty not proper shutdown

Bug Description

I have a desktop computer P4 1,5 Ghz, 512RAM and 2 IDE HDDs.

I recently installed Feisty Fawn and since then when I shut down, instead of hearing each HDD turn off properly and after this the whole computer,now everything shuts down at once like a hard power off.I can even hear my HDs spinning down,which is probably not normal.

I have used Ubuntu 5.10, 6.06, 6.10, Arch Linux and Windows on this computer and never encountered such a problem.
