Cannot remove Kopete

Bug Description
Hi,
$ sudo apt-get remove kopete
The following packages will be REMOVED:
kopete kubuntu-desktop
I do not want to remove the kubuntu-desktop, just kopete. I do not see how the Kubuntu Desktop should have a dependency on Kopete; the other way around, sure.
I have installed 6.10 and upgraded to 7.04.

kubuntu-desktop is only a meta-package. you can safely remove it. Nonetheless, it may be useful for painless upgrades to next ubuntu versions
