Hi.
I am experiencing this too, on kubuntu 7.04, both for 64 bit and 32 bit versions.
I have the following hardware setup on this computer:
Motherboard: Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200
Memory: OCZ DDR2 2048MB Platinum XTC Dual Ch
GFX card: POV GeFORCE 7900 GT (Nvidia)
Currently I have some hardware issues that are not resoplved on my machine (most likely graphics card) but that should not affect this errormessage (afaik).
I used the command sudo apt-get install k3d k3dsurf aqsis
error message:
Setter opp k3d (0.6.6. 0.ds1-1ubuntu0. 1~proposed1) ... k3d/tutorials/ gts_boolean. py: Sorry: TypeError: ('compile() expected string without null bytes',)
WARNING: compile error while trying to byte-compile /usr/share/
"setter opp" is norwegian for configuring, in case you didn't get it by natural linguistic talent :-)
