Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20

Wifi is an Atheros chipset in a Toshiba laptop. I'm using ndiswrapper because madwifi seems to have serious issues at this time. After moving to ndiswrapper, things settled down to where the wifi card no longer drops carrier, but my router logs are filling up with stuff like this:

This message "[ 9834.480000] ACPI Error (psargs-0355): [PBST] Namespace lookup failure, AE_NOT_FOUND" is probably unrelated to your ndiswrapper issue but interesting.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I don't see any indication of your connection being dropped in your 'dmesg' output. Are active downloads interrupted? Thanks in advance.

That's what so puzzling: ever since I put ndiswrapper on there, my connection uptime is unbroken, but every 30 seconds something is going on that my router is calling a "connection." It's really kind of irksome, too, because my router mails me the logs, and my inbox fills up with tons of emails after the logs get full.

I've tried running ntop, but I have no idea what in the heck I'm looking for, and I'm not sure it's something that ntop could catch. (My money is on "no idea what I'm looking for").

As for the ACPI error in my dmesg, from what I can tell (or, rather what Google can tell me) it has to do with my battery. From time to time it'll "disappear" and "reappear" to the ACPI stuffs. If I have the klaptop daemon checking at too fine a granularity, it throws me into hibernation.

The log file '/var/log/daemon.log' may be helpful in troubleshooting this issue. Could you please add it as an attachment to your bug report? Thanks again.
