Bug Description

I have done a fresh install of feisty fawn server edition and there are no /etc/hosts.allow /etc/hosts.deny files. I tried manually creating them but they don't work. How do I get these going, or what is your alternative to these now? Please Help!!

Thanks for the bug report.

I was not able to reproduce this bug. The files were not present, but when I added them they seemed to function correctly.

Please can you post a little more information on which service(s) you are trying to restrict and if possible the contents of your hosts.allow and hosts.deny files.

It seems these files are created by the tcpd package when it is installed. This package should be installed by default, but was mistakenly missed out from the default Feisty install. Installing this package should fix your problem.
