Heres some pages it happens on:
1) http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/2.0/gtk/index.html
2) http://www.lugradio.org/live/2007/index.php/Main_Page
3) http://www.javascriptkit.com/dhtmltutors/fixedcontent.shtml

I can confirm the same problem. It happens to me on all 3 links you gave above. Maybe this has to do with the problems with compiz / ati oss drivers witch make scrolling laggy and a bit slow. Do you gave a ati graphic card Johnathan?

Yes, I'm using an ati card (Radeon 9000) and my xorg.conf says the driver is "ati", I think that's the open source one?

Yes Johnathan, that is the open source ati driver. So I guess this would be a bug of the driver and not compiz?... Anyone with intel or nvidia having this problem too??

It's a common problem for all users, not just ati users.

Same problem here with Nvidia GF 7600 GS.
So it's a compiz bug.

This is actually a bug in the X server related to AIGLX.

This also happens with xcompmgr, so it's not a compiz bug (which is what Travis Watkins already said). I can also confirm that this bug is present with both radeon and intel cards.

This bug also affects programs that use gtkmozembed (e.g. devhelp), making them difficult to use.
