Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

version: Rhythmbox 0.10.0 shipped with Ubuntu feisty.

When I put some songs in the queue on the left pane, rhythmbox will play them BUT after the end of last song, instead of stopping any playback, Rhythmbox will start playing the first song of the library (and eventually continue playing the whole library)

This strange behavior is exemplified here http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=113175 (post #12) in french but with screenshots.

I deleted .gconf/apps/Rhythmbox to make sure it is not a crapy old settings that survived from upgrade but this did not do anything (but my settings were effectively lost)

This bug only shows up when the play queue is visible as a side pane and when you drag-drop songs into it.

If the queue is minimized (in the 'source' pane) and you drag n drop songs into it, rhythmbox will stop playback once the queue is over, as common sense expects it to do.

Comment from upstream:

"I guess I don't have any common sense, because this is exactly the behaviour I
intended."

Sorry, no offense intended, I really thought it was a Bug.

Is it then normal that the behavior is not the same whether the play queue is visible or invisible?

upstream comment:

"I've seen a few requests for the queue to behave this way, so if we can provide
it without breaking the other use cases or doing anything horrible to the UI,
then I don't see why we shouldn't.

The difference in behaviour arises because when the play queue is shown as a
source, you can play from it directly, rather than having it override another
source. So maybe we need to provide a way to do that when it's shown as a side
pane."

Closing, that's not a bug
