Binary package hint: firefox

Firefox was playing fine all mpeg files with Ubuntu 6.10. Since the upgrade to 7.04 it seems to try download the file and play it but in reality nothing happens, the message "donwloading" stays on forever, there's no movement on the activity indicator located top right, and in conclusion nothing happens and the browser sits there waiting

Can you please give us a step by step way to reproduce this including sites. What player is it that you are trying to play these files on? are you playing them inside firefox or in a stand alone player?

Sure,

When I find a page with .mpg files on it, I click on the file I want to
view, Firefox loads the internal viewer, displays a message saying
"transferring data from www.nameofthesite.com" but in reality nothing
happens. There is no activity on the rotating indicator located at the
top right angle of the window and this can go on forever, or until I go
back to the previous page.
Hope it helps, otherwise please feel free to ask more questions.

totem-xine is known to be broken. Use totem-gstreamer instead which is
shipped in main.
