netbeans install doesn't work from synaptic

Bug Description

Binary package hint: synaptic

Until feisty I had installed netbeans 5.5 on edgy with sun java 5. After updating to feisty netbeans seemed to have been removed in the process. I uninstalled sun java 5 and installed sun java 6 then tried to install netbeans from synaptic rather than the downloaded bin from my previous install however I receive a long list of errors reporting missing packages including sun java 6 which is installed?
