Bug Description

On a Lenovo/IBM Thinkpad R60 Laptop running Ubuntu 7.04 recently upgraded from 6.10 the following problem has been discovered

After the display wakes up/resumes from a Energy-Savings-Off-State (into which the display enters on Laptop-Close or 11min of inactivity) the display is not restored properly: I.e. the screen is way darker (propably 60% darker) and Icons and Fonts are partially black making the display almost unreadable.

Changing to TTY1 (CTRL-ALT-F1) and switching back to X (CTRL-ALT-F7) does not repair the display. Restarting X by hitting CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE fixes the problem.

The graphic adapter is a ATI Radeon Mobility X1400 built into a Lenovo Thinpad R60 (2months old). I use the proprietary driver from the ubuntu packets. I do not use 3d-Effects.
