Serial joystick not detected on NFORCE2 chipset

Bug Description

Binary package hint: udev

My serial joystick does not seem to be detected. I get a "Joystick Initialization Failed" error when starting up the "Joystick Calibrator" application. I have an ASUS A7N8X Deluxe motherboard. I will be happy to provide more information as needed. Could this possibly be a regression of this bug:

Ordinary serial joysticks cannot be automatically detected since the plain-old serial port has no insert notification, or hardware identification protocol
