Bug Description

i long ago subscribed to an Ubuntu wiki page.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HelpOnSubscribing talks about the fact that there should now be an "Unsubscribe" link at the top of the page, but there isn't. either the documentation is wrong or there's some sort of misconfiguration.

Hi Beej,

Can you make sure you are logged in then you visit the page you are subscribed to. I have tested the wiki and worked as expected. Please see the attached image.

Thanks,
Ant.

beej, are you unable to subscribe to the page via the "More Actions" dropdown?

I can't unsubscribe from pages either. It should be noted that I subscribed to these *ages* ago, using a regex. That regex is gone from the UI, yet I still get notifications.

I have the same problem, fro the notification settings, I don't have any subscription:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Home?action=userprefs&sub=notification
But, I'm getting many notifications.

BTW the documentation should be updated: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HelpOnSubscribing

Any news about this?

I will send an email to the documentation team, according to this site: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ContributeToUbuntu#Wiki they are in charge of the wiki.

I believe there are some issues from people who were subscribed to things before the wiki upgrade... I believe you have to speak to IS to get them cleared up.

Same here... I tried the following: remove all subscripcions from the Notification link on the user preferences. It did not work.

Today I received just another notification from page ServerTeam, so this time I tried this:

* subscribe again to the ServerTeam page
* verify that the Subscribe button changes
* verify that the ServerTeam page is now listed on Notifications page
* unsubscribe from ServerTeam page

Now waiting for next notification...

Sorry, but what does IS stand for? I'm afraid I'm missing something here.

I'm in the same boat. I want to unsubscribe from many Wiki pages, but I can't from the MoinMoin interface.
What "IS" means?

LOL I'm working for you Alex, this is what I got in the rt.ubuntu.com request page from LaMont Jones:

###########
I looked at the users for <email address hidden>, and found that the
pre-migration user entry still had many page subscriptions. I've
unsubscribed him from all of his subscriptions.

Can you test and confirm that this eliminates the issue? (or what other
emails should I be looking for?)

If it does, I suspect that we'll just clear all subscriptions for the
pre-migration users and send an announcement.
###########

Can you check Alex?

"we'll just clear all subscriptions for the pre-migration users and send an announcement" does not sound like the proper solution to the problem. people signed up for these subscriptions for a reason. the proper thing to do would be to migrate the old (still-working) subscriptions to the new system.
