Network shares always shown on desktop

Bug Description

On the kde desktop (kdesktop) network shares (NFS or SMB) mounted in fstab are always shown as folders on desktop even if the option is unchecked. This should be configurable through the kcontrol module "Behaviour" (accessable through right click on the desktop > Configure Desktop > Behaviour > Device icons). However it seems to be independent of the kde settings, always being displayed.

Thanks for your report. Your idea might get more attention and have the possibility of being implemented if you submit a specification for it. First check whether the idea is already registered <https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+specs>, and if so, contact the specification's drafter about your ideas. Otherwise, you can start writing a spec yourself. <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FeatureSpecifications>

Im not totally sure what you are suggesting, but this is not a new feature, its a bug. Other distros handle hiding/showing shares on the desktop fine within kde, it seems to be Kubuntu specific. Sorry if I've missed something here.

I apologize, I thought you asked for a new feature. Actually i'm not sure it's a bug, it's more a matter of changing defaults, so you could add this to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KubuntuFutureIdeas and to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KubuntuComments or contact the developpers via the mailing list (see wiki).
Thank you

Its not a problem having to change it, the default of showing shares is fine. If you view the attached image you can confirm that the relevant boxes are unchecked, yet the network shares are still present on the desktop.

Ok so i finally understood, the problem is that they are mounted although they shouldn't ! So this is a bug, I agree. I will a edit the title and description so this is easier to understand.
