[feisty] mplayer does not detect aspect ratio on widescreen displays

Bug Description

Reproducible: every time
Steps: on a widescreen display, open a video in mplayer and note that it is displayed using the wrong aspect ratio (vertically squished)
Fix: set correct "monitoraspect" in mplayer.conf or ~/mplayer/config

The problem is that mplayer seems to be unable to detect the monitor aspect ratio automatically. On my intel i915 with a 1280x800 (ratio 1.6) screen videos seem squished in the vertical direction. This can be fixed by setting "monitoraspect" to 1.6 in either /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf or ~/mplayer/config

A very annoying, but easily fixed, bug given that mplayer is the only player capable of playing HD videos on this hardware.

Distro: Ubuntu 7.04 feisty
Uname: Linux ikarus 2.6.20-15-lowlatency #2 SMP PREEMPT Sun Apr 15 07:39:03 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux
MPlayer 2:1.0~rc1-0ubuntu9
