Bug Description

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

Hi, I don't know if this could be specified as a bug, but since I haven't experienced such thing in firefox or opera I decided to report it.

http://www.standartnews.com/bg/

I'm visiting the web page above every day and until 10-14 days ago, epiphany was showing me the content of the page just fine.

but now, when I open the web site from epiphany, everything is messed up.

I first thought, that they've done something to optimize the page for IE. I then opened the page in Firefox and Opera and they showed the content as it should be.

Firefox and Epiphany are based on the same engine, right? So there shouldn't be a difference between both browsers.

Sorry for the report, If that's not a problem in the browser itself.

We all want to help to improve epiphany.

Can you define 'messed up' please? Maybe even post a screenshot of the issue? I just tried the English version in Konqueror and I noticed the headings of some of the articles were off, making the text over run the next header. Based on that, I have feeling it might be an issue with the webpage not being standards compliant, rather than any specific Epiphany issue.

One more thing, if this is an issue of the webpage, which probably is, why don't firefox and opera have that problem too.

In my opinion, this means, that there is something in epiphany, that could be improved, right?

Here is another screenshot of the same page, made from firefox.

Page http://standartnews.com/bg/ validates with only 1 minor error, per the W3C Markup Validation Service. Suggests Epiphany is not rendering a standards compliant page correctly.

Do you use any epiphany extensions like the adblock? Is that happening without those?

Sorry, guys. I have just found out, what the problem was.

I had set my minimum font size from 7 to 10 in the preferences window and resetting the value to the default one (7), made the magic.:)

Epiphany saves its settings in gconf too. I haven't thought about that.:)

But a big thanks for willing to help me out with this and I'm sorry for your lost time.

It is a weird with that whole font-story and epiphany. It's been discussed enough in the forums and so I'm just asking, why can't epiphany shows the fonts on the web pages just like firefox. That would a big noticeable improvement.

So, sorry again and you can close the bug report. Buy

Closing the bug then. You have options to the preferences to force the fonts or not

Hi,
The page http://www.linux.com/articles/54610 on Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20061201 Epiphany/2.18 Firefox/2.0.0.6 (Ubuntu-feisty) is not correctly displayed.

I don't know if is a bug of the browser or if the webmaster use a stupid javascript.
