Bug Description

Binary package hint: bigloo-ude

bigloo-ude 2.8c-6:

possibly two bugs:

* when removing the bigloo-ude, /etc/emacs/site-start.d/05bigloo-ude.el does not get removed (I looked briefly at installation scripts, but didn't find the error)
* installation does not install for emacs-snapshot-gtk, only for emacs or xemacs (this seems to be an error/feature of installattion scriptin /usr/lib/emacsen-common/packages/install/bigloo-ude)

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta?

I don't yet have 8.10 beta (8.04 amd64), but the bug seems to be present.

Steps to reproduce:

1. install bigloo-ude

sudo apt-get install bigloo-ude

(other necessary stuff gets pulled in)

2. open a scheme file in emacs

emacs test.scm

-> error in emacs:

File mode specification error: (file-error "Cannot open load file" "bee-mode")

3. remove bigloo ude

sudo apt-get remove bigloo-ude
sudo apt-get autoremove (remove pulled stuff)

4. open a scheme file in emacs

-> error in emacs:

File mode specification error: (file-error "Cannot open load file" "bee-mode")

if you remove bigloo-ude with apt-get purge .. error does not occur. Actually, I'm not sure if its policy to leave file into /etc/emacs/site-start.d/ directory or remove it. Anyway, this behaviour triggers the bug.

I will test 8.10 later when I have time.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Thanks in advance.

It seems that the package bigloo-ude is no longer present in jaunty or karmic, so this bug can be closed.
