Bug Description

Binary package hint: gpsd-2.33-4
Ubuntu 7.04

The udev rules file for gpsd is /etc/udev/rules.d/025_gpsd.rules (which is a symlink to /etc/udev/gpsd.rules).

It would be more consistent with other rules files if it would be named "25-gpsd.rules" (no leading zero, '-' instead of '_').

This still applies to gpsd-2.36.2 on Hardy.

According to /etc/udev/rules.d/README, the file should be named /etc/udev/rules.d/85-gpsd.rules

The file is named properly at least since 2.37-1, using dh_installudev.

Setting back to confirmed in case somebody wants to fix that in Feisty.
Migrate to Debian if you need proper gpsd support, even for older releases.

In fact /etc/udev/rules.d/025_gpsd.rules is a file from an old release of gpsd that should be deleted.
See Debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=455036

According to Bernd's changelog, the file is now deleted sinc 2.37-1
http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/g/gpsd/gpsd_2.37-4/changelog#versionversion2.37-1

However the current version of gpsd on Hardy is 2.36-2. So a backport of 2.37-4 from Intrepid to Hardy would cleanly close this bug.

Setting to "Fix Commited" because this has been fixed upstream.
Adding tag "upgrade"

Confirming fix is OK in Intrepid.
