microphone still working when muted

Bug Description

My microphone is still working even when the sound is at the minimum and its been set to mute

To turn microphone off I have to unplug it.

It is indicated that there is a duplicate of the bug. I also need to verify if the problem is still there as I got use to plug the microphone in each time I use it and then unplug it when I don't use it.
