Bug Description
The LG L1740PQ monitor (17" LCD, 1280x1024) is not identified (Ubuntu configures it as "Generic Monitor") and defaults it to a non-native resolution of 1024x768. Videocard is a nVidia GeForce 7300LE made by MSI.
Current workaround is edit manually the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and replace resolution entries with "1280x1024" to force the correct resolution.
