Bug Description

The current Compiz package does not include support for changable themes without using gtk-dectoration.

On investigation it appears that the theme manager cgwd is a.) not included in the compiz package. b.) replaced by emerald.

There is very base work going on within the ubuntu forums http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=423743&highlight=emerald+compiz&page=3 to repackage the later versions of compiz with the ubuntu package specs.

This is en enchancment request not a bug, however it would be nice to see a version update on this popular feature before gusty is released.

I've already made updated compiz packages for gutsy and given them to the desktop team for review. Once there is an actual release of emerald that supports compiz I will package it as well.

Hello Travis.

thanks for the feedback on this enchacment request.

Questions.

1.) The updates made for gusty, will they get filtered down into fesity if approved or will fesity not change revisions.
2.) I was wrongly from reading forum threads under the impression that the current version of emerald was compiz compatible, I asssume from your comments that it is not.
3.) If emerald is not compatiable currently and compiz does not ship with any theme mangament tools, is there a plan to use an alternate theme managment tool or simpley wait for emerald to become compatible.

thank you

Emerald is not available in gutsy and works with compiz. However, it is not installed by default.
