New Single Page Ubuntu Application Does Not Quit

I created a single page application. I can invoke the hud, but the exit button has no effect on the application.

I got in a similar state once where no apps would exit after loading a somewhat broken application, but generally it has been working for me.

applicationName in the MainView must match the name of the .desktop file.

For example:
myApp.desktop

then in the qml file which has the MainView the applicationName must be myApp.
