terminal does not let me print my pass word

Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-terminal
I wan`ted to install drivers for my nvida graphics card. I typed sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg when my password was asked for I could not print it it was as if the key board was not connected. I have just put Ubuntu 7.04 onto my computer. Also firefox keeps crashing

This is intentional. When you are asked for a password when running dpkg-reconfigure, your password is displayed, so that you can safely enter it, even if somebody is looking over your shoulder. Try entering it and pressing enter.
