Looks like it's there to me.

Then here's an idea, file it on the right package. In edgy, this file didn't exist (and that was 2.6.17 kernel). I can't guarantee this will get fixed or not.

Ok, well thanks for accepting the bug. I thought I had filed it
for linux-libc-dev in Ubuntu 6.10 but may be I was mistaken.

Hardy Heron 8.04 was recently released. It would be helpful if you could test the new release and verify if this is still an issue - http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download . You should be able to test your bug using the LiveCD. Please let us know your results. Thanks.

On Hardy Heron, the linux-libc-dev package provides
the file:
/usr/include/asm/msr.h
which contains the function and macro definition for reading the
machine-specific
registers.

I think this invalidates the bug report for Hardy Heron.

Per a decision made by the Ubuntu Kernel Team, bugs will longer be assigned to the ubuntu-kernel-team in Launchpad as part of the bug triage process. The ubuntu-kernel-team is being unassigned from this bug report. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies for more information. Thanks.
