Bug Description

Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk

Currently the VESA driver is listed under Other. There should be a Generic entry at the top of the Manufacturer section like there is on the Choose Screen dialog, with VESA, AGX, FrameBuffer, etc. listed there.

Do you want to have all items of the "Other" category in the generic one? If not please provide me a list of items for a special generic category. Since I have got no idea what na AGX actually is :)

Cheers,

Sebastian

No, probably just the ones from Other that have "(generic)" appended to them. I don't know what makes AGX generic either, but it's listed as such.

Thank you for reporting this bug and for your efforts to make Ubuntu
better. As Xorg has improved this past year, an unfortunate side effect
of these improvements is that it has rendered several design assumptions
in displayconfig-gtk obsolete. So, starting with Hardy we are no longer
putting displayconfig-gtk forth as a primary configuration tool, and are
putting our development focus into the Screen Resolution applet. As a
result, we do not plan to fix this bug and thus are closing it.
