Bug Description

Binary package hint: lwatch

lwatch on Feisty after initial install hangs when run by "sudo lwatch" as it needs a fifo file /var/lib/lwatch/syslog.fifo. As you to manually add a line to /etc/syslog.conf for this purpose (described in "man lwatch) this file is missing when you just run lwatch. lwatch does not complain about the missing fifo and cannot be stopped by ctrl-c or "pkill lwatch". you have to kill it with "kill -9 pid".

This might be upstream.

Hello,
I am both the upstream author of lwatch and also maintainer of Debian package. I suspect the behavior you reported has other cause than lwatch error.
Could you, please run lwatch as:
sudo strace -o /tmp/lwatch.strace lwatch
wait for hangup then attach the file /tmp/lwatch.strace to the bugreport.
Additionally, I'd be glad too see results of following commands:
- mount
- ls -l /var/lib/lwatch

Regards
