lwatch on Feisty after initial install hangs when run by "sudo lwatch" as it needs a fifo file /var/lib/

Hello,
I am both the upstream author of lwatch and also maintainer of Debian package. I suspect the behavior you reported has other cause than lwatch error.
Could you, please run lwatch as:
sudo strace -o /tmp/lwatch.strace lwatch
wait for hangup then attach the file /tmp/lwatch.strace to the bugreport.
Additionally, I'd be glad too see results of following commands:
- mount
- ls -l /var/lib/lwatch
Regards
