german spellcheck is missing

This is not possible because spellcheckers (myspell, aspell, ispell, etc) are also shared with other applications. That's why they have to be in separate packages.
If you want to install spellchecking and firefox-locale with one package, please use the language-support-de metapackage.

Last time I have had a look at, spellcheck in firefox was a firefox-add-on, but an other add-on than lokalication of the user interface. My idea was top bundle both language specific firefox add-ons in one ubuntu package. I do not know what it is look like today. Is there already an ubuntu package for the spell-check add-on of firefox?

As you can see here, language-support-de will install
language-support-writing-de, which in turn will install all the
german, austrian and swiss dictionaries.
No spell-check addon for firefox should be needed. Hunspell should
work with Firefox, check if you have it installed.
