Bug Description

For example secutiry updates for the kernel will be pulled in by changed dependencies of the meta packages. But the new files do not appear in the update list.

Original report:

Binary package hint: update-manager

see screenshot @ http://www.mrmaxus.com/update.png
(This is the ducht translation)

The size of each package is wrong, but total size is right.

The packages whose sizes you've marked on the left are metapackages, and their sizes are correct.

Murat, I think that you are wrong. As you can see, only the metapackages are presented in the update list. The total download size is 46 MB. Please only assign bugs to that you are going to fix.

Nevertheless I would appreciate a patch.

Cheers,

Sebastian

Sebastian, I assigned the bug to myself to triage it, but in the midst of dealing with a dozen bugs at the same time, somehow forgot to set status to "Needs Info", sorry about that.

To clarify, we want metapackages to report the actual total size of the packages they install, instead of their own sizes, so that the sum of the individual sizes will be consistent with the total download size, right?

That's why I submittedthis 'bug' I think it would be better to show the package size in stead of the metapackage size.
I thought this was in the past like this and now not anymore.

No metapackages are ok. The problem is that newly installed files are not shown in the list.
