Bug Description

Binary package hint: eclipse

I've installed Eclipse from the Ubuntu repository... At first, it worked good... I was able to get the VE plugin and all that it needed... but after that, it would take long for Eclipse to initiate fetching plugins... It would seem that it stalled, but I just had to wait a long time for the initialization.

Then after several crashes I get all the plugins I would need (for now)... however, when I start a new project (specifically a dynamic web project with GWT using the Cypal Studio aka Googlipse), the IDE would crash when it attempts to show the license agreement. It would continuously read like crazy and I would end up taking the battery off my laptop. One time it even crashed when I created a simple class with the main method in it... I have a decent 1GB memory so I don't think memory would be the problem...

I did the editing of /etc/eclipse/java_home and /etc/jvm(?) but I don't think that's the solution.

Crashing when Eclipse is trying to load the license window would be related to bug #112925, which hasn't been resolved yet:

Which JDK/JRE are you using?

I'm using 1.6... I removed the Eclipse I got from the repository and used the one from eclipse.org instead. It's working fine now though I feel eclipse is better with Windows...
