mono memory corruption g-thread

while doing the may 31 2007 apt-get upgrade, the mono packages produced error messages, a sample of which follows:
***MEMORY-WARNING***: /usr/share/mono/MonoGetAssemblyName.exe[6461]: GSlice: g_thread_init() must be called before all other GLib functions; memory corruption due to late invocation of g_thread_init() has been detected; this program is likely to crash, leak or unexpectedly abort soon...
