Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager-openvpn

I am using the network-manage with the openvpn plugin. The only probleme I have with this is that every 5 minute i need to close the vpn connection since i cannot access anything through the vpn anymore. So I close it, start it again and it work. But 5 minute later i need to close it again etc.

Anyone having the same probleme or any way to solve this?

Regards,
Guillaume Vachon

There is nothing the openvpn plugin could do about that. Maybe network-manager could be improved to tell its helper programs not to overwrite the resolv.conf if a VPN connection is active. Or maybe it should just get proper DNS handling itself.

Please test with latest gutsy livecd (or even better up-to-date gutsy install):
