deb-src repositories are not disabled for unknown distributions

could you give a clarification about, why a maveric repository is enabled? Which Ubuntu version do you use?

We need here the logs from

/var/log/dist-upgrade

Please attach them one by one here.

Ubuntu 10.10 has not been supported for 13 months: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

You should upgrade to a newer release, such as Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

I had installed ubuntu 12.10 version and i trying to upgrade to ubuntu 13.20 version.
I had installed ubutnu 12.10 from windows 7 in a linux 3.5.0-30generic and my pc have an AMD Athlon II x3 435 procesos

You have attached your main.log as "second log" here.

Refering to it you have in your quantal installation some maverik repositories enabled.

With this the comment #2 has become obsolet.

I have no clue how it comes that on your Ubuntu12.10 quantal installation, Ubuntu10.10 maveric repositories are enabled. That should not be.

It is clear what the problem is:

ubuntu-release-upgrader is disabeling the deb repositories for maveric, but not the deb-src ones.

Because, the extra repositories for maveric do not exist anymore on the URL's a 404 Error is received.

On that the upgrade process is failing.

The problem here is clear enough. The further logs requested would be nice, but not needed anymore. I set the status of the problem back to new.

ubuntu-release-upgrader is not responsible for extrem doings to a system, but may be disableling of repositories could be extendet to deb-src repositories.

o.K Jose, you know this here is mainly on handling bugs, and not so much about support.

Anyway, to bring your system in a state in which it is able to make the dist-upgrade you must remove the maverik entries from your repositorie file.

You can do this with the Software-Center -> menu -> edit -> software sorces -> Other Software

and there use the checkboxes in front of all maveric repositories to disable(uncheck) the repositories. You should also uncheck all not official repositories like the oracle one. ubuntu-release-upgrader is not able to handle this with good performance.

After this step please bring your system packages to the latest version available from the quantal repositories(Ubuntu12.10) and than retry the upgrade.

On this way you should be able to upgade to raring(Ubuntu13.04).
