Bug Description
Package evolution-common creates an entry on Applications/Office menu but does not provide the binaries the menu entry points to.
This is obliquely related to wishlist item 30692
The second occurrence of Evolution in the Office compound pulldown menu does not disappear when I remove Evolution. I see this on my desktop and on my laptop.
1. Install Feisty as a workstation.
2. Install Thunderbird as mail program.
3. Remove Evolution as mail program.
Result:
a. Evolution disappears from Internet section pulldown of Applications.
b. Evolution does not disappear from Office section pulldown of Applications.
Note: One machine where I did this was from a complete bottom up install. The other was upgraded with apt-get from Edgy. I removed Evolution from both after the upgrade.
I guess it's also important to say the diagnostic popup the evocation icon results in:
(warning red circle with white dash)
Could not launch menu item
Failed to execute child process
"evolution -2.10" (No such file or directory)
(and an okay button)
Please request a screen shot if that's necessary.
