hidd bluetooth mouse connection interferes with headset

Bug Description

Binary package hint: bluez-utils

Ubuntu feisty
IBM T60p
Plantronics 520 headset
Logitech M-RBA97 mouse

I downloaded and used gbtsco to connect to the headset <http://www.stgraber.org/category/gbtsco/> however I've seen the same effect with other connection methods (no surprise really)

I can use skype with reasonably good sound quality.

If I do that, and then connect to my BT mouse with

  sudo hidd --connect <btaddr>

and try to use skype again, I get horrible distortion, from "choppy sound" to "white noise"

If I then

  sudo killall /usr/bin/hidd

sound in skype goes back to normal.

Actually I have

  HIDD_ENABLED=1
  HIDD_OPTIONS="--connect 00:07:61:35:FE:A9 --master --server"

in my /etc/default/bluetooth, so all I need to do is turn my mouse *on* to get this effect.

This problem can be worked around as described here: http://news.gmane.org/find-root.php?message_id=%3cd89ddf300707052037n77cde792lef76d30364998959%40mail.gmail.com%3e

However, I consider it a bug either with the default configuration or the help text about setting up btsco.

Confirmed and the workaround worked for me as well.

I think in general this goes back to "Better bluetooth support" overall.

gbtsco is great, but what would be even better is if the bluetooth applet found and configured the headset itself.

hidd is not supported anymore on Intrepid. You'll need to use the pairing wizard to connect your mouse (which will use the appropriate input service)
