Bug Description

If I insert some of my DVDs to drive, it doesn't mount. When I try to eject it, it doesn't even eject. I must restart my computer to eject that DVD I've got this in fstab "/dev/hdc /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user, noauto 0 0"
When I chage filesystem to auto, the whole system freeze and I must reset the computer.

I am having a similar problem to this. Whenever I insert any CD or DVD, it is not recognised by the system. If I reboot the system (with the disc in the drive), then the disc is mounted when I log back in.

fstab contains "/dev/hdb /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0"

Do I need to do any sort of debugging to help? Will doing the steps on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingRemovableDevices or https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingHardwareDetection help?

What version of Ubuntu are you using? Is this problem still occurring in Gutsy or Hardy?
