PowerDNS crashes on heavy usage of its built-in web server

Bug Description

It's Ubuntu Edgy 64bit, pdns-server package version is 2.9.20-3. When using heavily its builtin webserver (showing stat about powerdns itself) it crashes quite often. I've reported it to the PowerDNS team, and got response:

"This crash appears to be related to the webserver, which was known to contain bugs in 2.9.20.Can you try 2.9.21? Alternatively, try switching off the webserver."

I don't want to use software from non-ubuntu-repository source, also I need the webserver since a script parses its output to create stats, etc. It would be great to backport fixes from 2.9.21, or something similar according to the information got from upstream.

Also, please note that we're using pdns-server on a dapper LTS server too, and no crash there (though same heavy usage of its web server). Version of package pdns-server is 2.9.19-3build1 on that server (64 bit too).

Edgy is EOL for a while now, except Dapper all releases contain pdns >= 2.9.21. Marking bug invalid.
