network configuration incorrect after suspend/resume

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-network

I have two network interfaces

eth0 - wired
eth1 -wireless

only eth1 is set to 'auto' in /etc/network/interface

however after resuming from suspend both interfaces are brought up and as such there are two routes in the routing table for the same subnet, where the routes for eth0 (which I dont normally use) take default.

I need to run 'ifdown eth0' to restore correct configurations after resuming.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

yes sometimes, even with the latest hardy heron release, I not getting
IP address from DHCP..

I have to run dhclient manually after suspend/resume. this probably
happens 1 in 5 times I would say..

These are 2 different issues. You've originally described a problem related to routes not being restored correctly after resuming from suspend and the second one is related to acquiring IP addresses.

Are there 2 different problems or did I understand it wrong ?

Thank you again for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Feel free to submit a new report for the DHCP issue.
