[compiz/glxgears] redraw problem

Bug Description

when using glxgears in a window and moving this window over the desktop redraws may take place outside the window area or may be done on top of a window placed above the glxgears window ; maybe attributed to a radeon driver bug ?

Thanks for your bug report. Does this still happen in Gutsy or Hardy? If so, please attach your Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf.

How do you move the window having another window on top of it? With the standard Ubuntu wm, the moving window is always on top.

Ahem, I didn't try with compiz... Anyway, I think this is a known issue with DRI, it can not do redirected rendering yet. See http://hoegsberg.blogspot.com/2007/08/redirected-direct-rendering.html

Same Problem...I am using the opensource radeon driver, everything fine except the problem mentioned here...will there be a fix soon?
