Trim away whitespace from barcodes

In checkout, when pasting a barcode it may have accidental spaces or tabs in the beginning and end. Trim those away.

Sounds good in principle, but I know we unfortunately have "legitimate" barcodes employed in our system that have used space as a character. Adding this would break those barcodes from scanning.

Worth exploring though, and perhaps something we can eventually make use of.

Not allowing any whitespace for us at C/W MARS would be a good thing.

Since we're the only wacky people so far, I'll focus on cleaning up our database of strangeness and not stand in the way of this proposed feature.... marking bug target for 2.5 consideration.
