Bug Description
I am trying to update the Ubuntu system from the upgrade icon , and I get the followingfrom the Package manager
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.
Hovering over the icon shows that there is an error: BrokenCount>0
In a terminal, running dpkg--configure-a gives me "dpkg: requested operation requires superuser privilege".
Not sure now - how do I get superuser privilege?
typing 'sudo apt-get remove interchange* ' in the command line gives the same response

Thanks for the bug report.
The sudo command gives you superuser privileges. Please try:
sudo dpkg --configure -a
Does this fix the problem?
