Is there a crash report in '/var/crash/' at all? It may have the word kpdf or konqueror in it.

Does the happen with only certain pdfs or everyone?

I'm not sure, but I think that it happens with protected pdfs (that require a password to read them).
I have a directory in my PC with different pdfs, some of them are protected.
I was reading some of them, and konqueror/kpdf crashes (but I don't remember if it was protected or no).

On gutsy, pdf preview doesn't work any more.

As the preview is cached, the preview is shown for some files, but for new files, the preview can't be generated.
