Desktop Effects crashes after a while

Bug Description

Binary package hint: desktop-effects

When enabling both window wobble and workspace on a cube, the effects work fine for a while, then without warning, the desktop freezes. the mouse pointer can still scroll around, but you cannot click on anything.

I have left it for up to 10 minutes, but it does not return back to a usable state.

If I only have the window wobble enabled, I have not encountered the problem.

I also have the problem of the workspaces being shrunk to only one as soon as I enable the desktop effects.

i am using Ubuntu 7.04 with an Acer TravelMate 4100. I believe the graphics card is an ATI Radeon Mobility X700.

i have upgraded to 7.10 and a HP nx7300, so my problems have all been solved.
