Bug Description

Qt Jambi is a Qt port to Java programming language from Trolltech. It has reached the stable version. It would be extremely nice to include it into the Ubuntu (and Debian) along with the regular Qt libs and python (etc.) bindings.

This would be very useful since we use Java for teaching on Kubuntu and Debian and would prefer to deal with official packages.

Due to a policy change (https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-motu/2007-November/002684.html) I set the status to 'Triaged'. Set it back to 'In Progress' once you have a source package up for review.

As a matter of fact, Jambi is already in the archives, marking the bug as fix released.

Harald: In what archives? On lucid, apt-cache search jambi returns nothing. I gather this was in older releases, but removed.

It was packaged while being maintained by Nokia/Trolltech. Now that it was made into a open source project by said Companies, it isn’t anymore.

Qt Jambi is packaged by the Qt Jambi Community, you can find more information on the project's launchpad site https://launchpad.net/qtjambi
and download links under "External downloads".

thanks, but this bug is about getting it into ubuntu.

with your link i could get a downloadable .deb for the wrong architecture or a source package, which i have to compile, both of which are not automatically updating.

I've created a PPA https://launchpad.net/~qtjambi-community/+archive/libqtjambi which now contains both i386 and amd64 packages for maverick and natty, built from Qt 4.7.2. I'm looking forward for getting this into the official repos. I appreciate any testing result or suggestion about the packages.
