Restricted ATI driver ends session badly

Bug Description

I'm using Fujitsu Siemens SCALEO J computer. I'm using fglrx-driver. When I log out from my Ubuntu I got only black screen and I cannot reboot or shut down X. I must press reset button.

I can confirm this, unfortunately it is a proprietary driver.

Video card: "01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RS482 [Radeon Xpress 200M]"

A temporary solution is to set the x-server to restart on login in the login-window manager (gdm manager).

Switch user still does not work, however.
