Bug Description

As described, one sees a 'mosaic' of what's in vram instead of plymouth splash. Restarts take longer than usual with u-s-c so the disturbed screen may be mis-leading to users

With recent updates, this bug appears to be fixed for me. Can anyone confirm?

Can't really confirm on only current available nouveau machine (8600m
shutdowns - clean
restarts - a quick flash, hardly noticeable on the exit end however still happening for 1.5 -2 sec on the start up side right before the greeter loads.
See either a 'art deco' black & white stepped stair design or more often elements of previous windows & or the desktop, ect.

Doug,

If you mean "starts" rather than "restarts" (i.e. there is no shutdown involved) then that's what this bug should be about.

I'm only talking about shutdowns, per duplicate bug 1218724.

It *was* seen previously on fresh/restarts & shutdowns. Currently shutdowns are ok
As far as fresh & restarts, appears directly before the greeter screen for 1-2 seconds or so, sometimes 'bleeds into the greeter for a moment.
As far as a restart, before exiting some flashing occurs, usually quite brief

Can you please retest the final saucy release? It should contain a fix for bug 1236712 which is the only explanation I can think of for this one.
