Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

Hello 2northen,

It seems you have duplicate entries in /etc/apt/sources.list. Please check it or, if you are unsure on how/what to do, please attach this file to this bug.

Additionally, you have been hit by "Dynamic MMap ran out of room". Please see bug 24626 for details on this other error. It is probable that cleaning the APT sources list may resolve the MMap issue, though.

i am a new user and have no idea how to use terminal, please help , sorry i am so late in asking for more help. i did run your message in terminal and now i can upgrade my system but don't know what i did to fix problem. for a dummy like me is there a self taught system ?

A unresolvable problem occurred while initializing the package information.

Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message:

'E:Dynamic MMap ran out of room, E:Read error - read (14 Bad address), E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.'
