Bug Description

Binary package hint: hal

I am running Ubuntu from the LiveCD.

Steps to reproduce:
With no applications open, select System->Preferences->Hardware Information. On the Hardware Information window, select Help->About. About seven seconds later, a window titled "Application problem" will appear, stating "Sorry, Hardware Information closed unexpectedly".

Note:
Despite the error dialog claiming otherwise, Hardware Information did not close at all, and if I select "Close" to dismiss the error dialog, I can continue using the Hardware Information dialog as usual. Conversely, if I select "Restart Program" on the error dialog, another instance of the Device Manager window appears, so I then have two. I am able to reproduce this bug every time I try.
