pdflatex complaits about a missing symbol when inserting a pdf figure

Bug Description

Binary package hint: texlive-latex-base

In gutsy, when running pdflatex on a file that loads pdf figures, pdflatex exists after being unable to find symbol _ZN12GlobalParamsC1EPc

pdflatex: symbol lookup error: pdflatex: undefined symbol: _ZN12GlobalParamsC1EPc

This symbol was available in older poppler version (the demangled name is GlobalParams::GlobalParams(char*)), however
 nm -D /usr/lib/libpoppler.so.1 | grep GlobalParamsC shows that only

_ZN12GlobalParamsC1Ev and _ZN12GlobalParamsC2Ev are available.

Would you mind checking bugs before reporting the same bug the x-th
time? One glimpse on the bug page should have shown you that this has
already been dicussed extensively and that there are already several
bugs reported for this.

Ooops, sorry. But I just took a look at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/texlive-base/ and could not find anything relevant.
