Thank you Daniel Stoyanov for your report,

is the crash reproducible? if so, would you please indicate a test case to reproduce it.

Indicate which extensions/plugins do you have enabled.

Thanks in advance

The crash happend only on the first run of thinderbird after installing it on a fresh Tribe 2 install. I installed the package "thunderbird". Everything is working for the second run. I can't reproduce this bug. Even if I remove and reinstall thunderbird the bug doesn't reappears. It's really on the first run.

Don't hesitate to give me a hint if I can do anything further to help.

Thanks

did you upgrade packages between the first run that crashed and the second run that didn't crash anymore?

No I didn't.

I have reinstalled my machine and now I'm on Tribe 3 and Thunderbird (
version 2.0.0.5 (20070723) ) don't reproduce this bug.

Could the bug be an upgrade issue when you are trying to use an existing
Thunderbird profile?

After the recent upgrade (10/20/2007) Thunderbird was crashing and while I was googling for solutions I saw this thread. Later I saw a page (sorry I forgot the link) that recommended disabling your add-ons. This helped make Thunderbird stable on my system. This tip might help other people who stumble upon this thread.

Create new profile by starting thunderbird with the P option
>thunderbird -P

copy mail folders from old profile folder (~/.mozilla-thunderbird/profile/mail) to the new profile, delete the old profile (thunderbird -P again)
