I am unable to replicate this on Feisty. Are you using the Python interpreter installed by the packaging system?

yes, but notice that it's the python2.4 interpreter. It works for me
with python2.5.

Yes, but note that it's the python **2.4** installed by the packaging system. I also have 2.5 installed and it works there.

I can reproduce this if ppython-pgsql is uninstalled, but as soon as I install it it works which I think is quite a normal behaviour... This happens with every python-module packaged for me.

OK then; I suggest we close it. I have installed some things by hand occasionally, and that might've confused the package system.
