Trying to obtain a Valgrind trace with this command:
G_SLICE=always-malloc G_DEBUG=gc-friendly valgrind -v --tool=memcheck --leak-check=full --num-callers=40 --log-file=valgrind.log f-spot

I obtain an error. Check the attachment.

the same problem with my f-spot, both in 8.04 alpa6 and mar-9th daily-build LiveCD
i didn't import any image to it, just open it and scroll the date-bar and close it, then it crashes.

I don't know if it is the same bug, but I got the same error, just trying to cancel an operation and quit f-spot gracefully.

I've added (/lib/ld-linux.so.2) to this bug's title to differentiate it from bug #197629 - they don't seem to be duplicates.

Daniel Hahler (blueyed) wrote : Problem with mono libs

In bug 197184 [1], Jordi Mas said that it is caused by the mono libraries, not by the program itself, and that Hardy would require an update of said libs.

I can confirm there is a problem with the mono libraries and not just this one program. A C# program I wrote myself that worked fine in Gutsy crashes at a certain point in Hardy.

Confirmed - F-Spot would lock up on exit and generate a crash report.

Confirming with current Hardy and F-Spot. It hangs very often on exit.

This seems to be a duplicate of bug #199496, like Pedro Villavicencio said. I'm marking it as Fix Released, as #199496 has been fixed and I can confirm that gbrainy now no longer segfaults on exit.
